Spring Valley Ranch has prided itself with standing and offering stallions throughout the years who were individuals who would perpetuate and maintain a quality in the industry. Today, we continue to strive for this in our program. We have chosen our stallion with a pedigree which has a reputable, proven background. We evaluate conformation and attitude as assets that sell through their offspring. It is in selective breeding for attributes that we hope to offer offspring that will meet the needs of others whom are looking for sensible, versatile stock ready for a trail ride, show pen or chasing a cow.

2025 Breeding Season- Books Closed for this season
With the advent of the 2025 breeding season coming up, we at the ranch have chose to close "Grit" to outside mares. We appreciate your interest. We will have 2025 foals available for purchase.
When he is open to mares, terms for outside mares include:
*No Hind Shoes
* Current vaccinations & in good health for breeding
* Halter broke
*Copy of registration papers at the time of service
* Mare Care: $12 dry/ $14 wet per day or $8 per day for pasture breeding (Minimum 30 days)
* 2026 Fees: Krogs Fiddle Cat $600 live cover/pasture breed
* APHA approval completed
We encourage all mare owners to utilize their local vet to see where mares are in their cycle to help with timing to coming to the ranch and ensure soundness to breed.

Krogs Fiddle Cat
"Grit" is a 2014, 14.3 hand AQHA Red Roan stallion who is now at the heart of our breeding program here at the ranch. He is sired by Can't Kick This Cat who is an own son of High Brow Cat; he also has Dual Pep & Smart Little Lena. His dam, Fiddlin Jill Pine, is a granddaughter of Paprika Pine and goes back to Baron Bell. He has been 5 panel tested and is N/N across the board.
In 2019 he produced 2 money earners in the inaugural IQHA Ranch Horse Stallion Breeders Futurity. Again in 2020 Grit babies knock it out of the park with a 2nd place out of 45 entries in the yearling in hand trail course and a 3rd place in the 2 year old non-pro trail class.
In February 2020 he began his refresher course work at West Fork Ranch where he has been observed to be a quick study and good minded. His offspring have exhibited much of the same qualities as the sire as we have began to get offspring into new owner hands and work with ones ourselves.
In 2022, his get earned 4th place in the IQHA Breeders Futurity and a 2nd place at the NW Missouri Stallion Breeders Futurity show in the weanling stallion class. A weanling filly at that same NW Missouri show earned 1st place. She also made her showing debut with the International Buckskin Horse Association shows. Several other offspring have been making and continuing their show appearances and career working a variety of disciplines.
Presently, we have seen his offspring take to a variety of jobs (ranch work, trail, rodeo arena, mounted shooting and roping). Versatile and intelligent, offspring have shown their capacity to do a lot of different work.
At the 2023 Ranch Horse Extravaganza & Futurity, Grit's offspring group for Get of Sire Class composed of This Cat Called Jack, Country Rossie and BZ Ima FidlePlayer 2, earned 2nd place in a competitive class. Country Rossie also took 4th place in a class of 30+ yearlings for ranch conformation. Several other Grit foals competed and placed at the show. Grit also participated in the inaugural Stallion Alley and showcase at the futurity the Saturday evening of the show.
2024 brought more great Grit offspring out to show and grow! Top 10 placings including in the Get of Sire and Produce of Dam classes. Another participated in the IQHA Breeders Futurity and earned a great check! Overall we are proud of all the offspring and their owners with their accomplishments both in and out of the show pen.
To date, Grit has progeny earnings of at or just over $2000.00 and still going.
